What’s the first thing you do in this kitchen every morning - and why here?
Before coffee, I open the back window and stand at the sink for a minute. The light comes in low and hits the counter just right. It’s the only quiet moment before the house wakes up, so that spot has become a kind of pause button.
Which part of this kitchen looks ordinary in photos, but matters most to you?
The drawer to the left of the stove. It’s a mess—wooden spoons, a broken thermometer, takeout menus—but it’s the drawer I open the most. If that drawer works, the whole kitchen works.
What decision in this kitchen felt risky at the time—but paid off?
We almost didn’t paint the cabinets green. It felt too personal, like we were locking ourselves into a mood. But now it’s the thing everyone comments on—and it makes the kitchen feel like ours, not a listing photo.
